The greatest obstacle standing in the way of our positive growth and self-improvement is that we don’t realize just how habitual we are.

We don’t see that who we are today – everything that comprises our personalities and the way we live our lives – is a direct result of our habits.

When we hear the word “habit” we think of these sort of practices that we either do or don’t engage in on a regular basis – as if we have a choice about the way we’re going to behave and we choose to behave in one way or another, regularly.

We don’t really think of our habits as unique individual behaviors that occur subconsciously, or can even be called compulsory. Most of the time when it comes to our most regular habits, we have no choice in whether or how we do them, we just behave the way we always have.

Every decision we make has the potential to become a habit.
